Our award-winning Competition and Performance Teams are designed for dancers who are ready for more. Focused, energetic, and goal-oriented, these teams help dancers grow into stronger performers while building lifelong friendships and developing confidence that shines both on and off the stage.

COMPETITION TEAM
Our Competition Team program (PreK & up) is designed for dedicated dancers who love to perform, grow, and compete. With a strong emphasis on technique and teamwork, dancers train weekly in ballet and acro to build strength, flexibility, and confidence. Each team performs two competitive routines—tap and jazz—with the option to add hip-hop at three local competitions throughout the season. Our youngest team rehearses once a week, while all other teams train twice weekly to refine their skills and prepare for the stage.
Join a community of passionate, driven dancers who love to perform, grow, and shine together! Platinum Dance Competitive Teams are designed for the serious dancer who strives for excellence both individually and as part of a team.
Placement is determined through a mandatory audition process, with teams organized by age and skill level. Our dancers compete at three local competitions each season and participate in a rotating Nationals schedule, giving them opportunities to perform on some of the most exciting stages in the region.
Our technique-driven program emphasizes the foundational styles of ballet, tap, jazz, and acro, ensuring every dancer builds the strength, flexibility, and artistry needed to excel. Dancers train in multiple ballet and technique classes throughout the week, along with choreography sessions that bring their hard work to life on stage.
At Platinum Dance, training doesn’t stop when the season ends! Our dancers train year-round, with summer programs designed to enhance technique, build strength, and prepare for the upcoming season. Every camp and class is focused on growth, confidence, and the joy of dance.

PERFORMANCE TEAM
Our Performance Teams love sharing their passion for dance throughout the community! Each year, dancers perform at a variety of exciting local events, such as Minnesota Gopher and Timberwolves games, the Edina Tree Lighting, the Edina Dance Invite, and more. Teams rehearse once a week in the styles of jazz and pom, with the option to add a second rehearsal day for dancers who want extra training and performance opportunities.
The Performance Team is ideal for dancers who love to perform and be part of a team-focused, goal-driven environment. Dancers train in the styles of pom and jazz, learning fun, high-energy routines that light up every stage. Teams are grouped by age, allowing dancers to build confidence, teamwork, and performance skills alongside their peers in a supportive, inspiring atmosphere.
