2026 Nutcracker Details
Dancers will learn ballet-inspired choreography to be placed in a character/piece that will be featured in Platinum's annual Nutcracker: Land of the Sweets production!

Placements
Nutcracker Placements are held annually in September at Platinum Dance in Edina, MN. You may enroll through your Parent Portal.
Saturday, September 26
❅ Ages 3-5 → 12:00-1:00 PM
❅ Ages 6+ → 1:15-2:30 PM
The Nutcracker Placement Fee will be automatically posted & due on September 26. Final role placements will be sent out via email following the September 26 placements class.

Rehearsals
Rehearsals are held at Platinum Dance—rehearsal times and placements are announced the week after auditions.

Dress Rehearsal & Shows
Nutcracker dress rehearsals take place in December a few days before the show at a local theater near Edina. Show dates will be announced annually in mid-summer; show times will be announced after auditions and placements.

❅ December 13: Nutcracker Performances
Participation Fee
Includes Placement day, Nutcracker rehearsals, and participation in the production.
❅ Ages 3-5: $250
❅ Ages 6+: $275
Dress Code
❅ Girls: Any color leotard (with or without skirt), pink ballet shoes
❅ Boys: Black t-shirt & shorts, black ballet shoes
Ballet Shoes are recommended for auditions and REQUIRED for rehearsals/performance.
TBD: Headshots — occurring during the first day of rehearsal. If you do not own a black leotard or shirt, we will provide a black t-shirt for the photo. Black leotard or shirt is REQUIRED for headshot day.
