Solana, originally from Arizona, began her training with the Tucson Regional Ballet, later dancing with the company, Ballet Tucson, through her high school years. She spent her adolescent summers training with Boston Ballet, State Street Ballet, Ballet Austin and Movement Invention Project. Continuing her education, Solana attended The Juilliard School, where she received a BFA and upon graduation was awarded the Martha Hill Prize for outstanding leadership and achievement in dance. Post graduation, Solana moved to the Twin Cities to become a dancer with Minnesota Dance Theatre where the 2020-2021 year will now be her 6th season. Throughout her career Solana has had the honor to perform masterworks choreographed by Liam Scarlett, Merce Cunningham, Paul Taylor, José Limón, Eliot Feld, Glen Tetley, Loyce Houlton and Christopher Bruce. Also, enjoying the creative process side of dance, Solana has collaborated with Adam Barruch, Wynn Fricke, Lise Houlton, Larry Keigwin, Emery LeCrone, Penelope Freeh, Elayna Waxse, Alanna Morris-Van Tassel, Helen Hatch and Darrell Grand Moultrie. Solana is so excited to be back teaching at Platinum after taking some time away to heal her body from some dance related injuries.
