Platinum introduces their 2021 Recital…The Show Must Go On! Read below for important details.
Recital Week for Edina and Wayzata: May 3 – 8, 2021
Location: Bloomington Jefferson High School
This season (2020-21) there will be challenges to hosting our typical recital weekend. What we do know is there will be a performance in costume this Spring 2021 – see our 3 plans laid out below!
Whichever plan we go with, we will host multiple recitals & each class will be assigned to a specific show. Multiple shows allows us to keep our show lengths to a minimum and offer each family tickets to the show at a safe capacity. We do our best to create show assignments that benefit dancers taking multiple classes or with siblings, however, with multiple shows, dancers/families will most likely be assigned to different shows.
Final show assignments with your dancer’s show day & time will be available in March.
LOCATION (for both Edina and Wayzata studios)
Bloomington Jefferson High School
4001 W 102nd Street, Bloomington, MN 55437 (map)
Jefferson high school has a very large auditorium, one of the largest high schools in the metro area with seating for over 1,000. There is also no balcony, so there isn’t a bad seat in the house! With this large of an auditorium, we are able to distance our audience into smaller “family pods” spaced out. On top of having less dancers per show, the tickets per family will be limited (up to 6-8 tickets max per family), so that there is no congestion in the venue during each show.
PARKING: Throughout the weekend, there may be multiple school events going on in different parts of the building, therefore parking can be limited. Overflow parking is available a few blocks west of the school at Olsen Middle School or in the neighborhood streets.
RECITAL PLAN B or C Venue
If we can run an indoor recital with more patrons in an audience besides one family, we will be at Bloomington Jefferson High School regardless of which recital plan we are executing. If we need to run an outdoor performance, the venue will be announced in April.
All studios sell tickets to their recital to cover the cost of the venue and other expenses that come with producing a top-notch experience for children and their families. Tickets are typically sold through a ticket company (Dance Recital Ticketing). However, this season, we may be offering family “pods” for one fee that would be added to your account. Depending on our capacity limits and show assignments, each family will get up to 6-8 tickets per “pod”.
More ticket details coming soon!
We will not be needing volunteers for our 2021 recital – we look forward to working with you all again in the future!
Picture week is required for all dancers, even if you do not plan on purchasing photos. This is a chance for us to professionally photograph each dancer in costume prior to the recital. We will be photoshopping all individual pictures together to create class photos, so al photos will be taken individually in a safe environment.
Pictures are held during your usual class day at Platinum (times may vary from your usual class time). A parent/guardian is required to attend picture week, as no classes are held this week. One parent per dancer of all ages should attend.
What to expect on picture day?
