LOTS of important info below!
Friday, March 5
Chanhassen High School – 2200 Lyman Blvd Chanhassen, MN 55317
This competition will be using a block schedule and arrival times will be when we are allowed to enter the building. Our block is 8-10pm. I know this is late, but we have no control over our time given. It will be a fun and busy 2 hours! EVERYONE should arrive at 8PM and be on time, as we will only have 30 minutes to prepare for our first dances.
Dancers should arrive COMPLETELY ready to dance in their first costume!
Each dancer will be allowed up to 3 spectators! Wristbands will be given out at the venue for every dancer and spectator. If you are looking to bring more, please email Sydney ASAP- we do have a handful of extras to give out, but I need to know who to plan on! All those entering the venue will be subject to temperature checks upon their arrival. ** Everyone entering the building will need to bring a printed waiver (more info below)**
A livestream will be available – link will be sent later!
Masks will be required at all times for attendees and dancers including in the lobby, theater, on stage, dressing rooms, etc. The mask policy will be strictly enforced. Anyone not in compliance will be asked to leave the event.
Immediately following Platinum’s “block” there will be an awards ceremony. Dancers are required to stay for this– (again, I know it is late, but this is part of the competition experience). An overall and final ceremony will take place Sunday night (approx 6pm) and will be live streamed. Teachers will be in attendance, but dancers are not allowed to attend these final awards.
A waiver must be filled out and signed by every person through the door. This includes dancers, teachers, parents, siblings and attendees of any age. Upon entry to the event everyone will need to give the hard copy of their waiver to the staff at the door. LOOK FOR AN EMAIL SOON WITH THIS WAIVER!
From Energy: Parents are encouraged to download the free DanceBug app to follow along with the run-of-show. Since the event is running using the block scheduling format we will not have programs available to purchase. We will have a digital program available to view on the Minneapolis event page of our website under the tour dates tab.
There will be a professional photographer and videographer on site. There will be no photography or videography of any kind permitted in the audience. This is for the safety of the children and we take this rule very seriously. Point deductions could occur if someone affiliated with your studio is caught breaking this rule.
Dressing Rooms /Practice Space
Dressing rooms will be assigned to us. Look for PLATINUM DANCE WEST on a sign when you get to the venue. Please plan ahead though and get as ready as possible at home. Dressing room space may be limited! Please make sure that your dancer(s) stay with their team and/or teacher when it’s time to warm up, practice, and go backstage.
Our competition goals are simple: have fun, get better each time and make a lasting impression on the judges! We hope the dancers have an absolute blast! #platinumproud
